  • 13.8 oz refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1.25 oz taco seasoning
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups finely diced tomatoes

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked; drain excess grease.
  2. Stir in taco seasoning and water, simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out pizza dough on parchment to about 10 x 15 inches.
  4. Slice both long sides of the dough into strips about 1.5 inches wide.
  5. Microwave refried beans for 45 seconds, then spread along the center of the dough.
  6. Layer the seasoned beef over the beans, followed by salsa and cheese.
  7. Fold strips over filling in a braid pattern until secured.
  8. Brush with melted butter and bake on a baking sheet for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool for 5 minutes before serving with optional toppings.
