  • 1 lb. shrimp (peeled, deveined, tails removed)
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Boom boom sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until blended.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Dip each shrimp into the flour mixture first, then into the egg mixture, and return to the flour mixture for an even coating.
  4. Heat about 1 – 1½ inches of vegetable oil in a Dutch oven or heavy pot to 375°F.
  5. Fry shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown. Remove with a skimmer and drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve immediately with boom boom sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.
