  • 1 lb ribeye steak (thinly sliced)
  • 1 sweet onion (diced)
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 garlic clove (pressed)
  • Mayonnaise (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the skillet over medium heat.
  2. Slice the hoagie rolls three-quarters of the way through and set aside.
  3. Combine softened butter and pressed garlic in a bowl; spread this garlic butter on the cut sides of the rolls.
  4. Toast the hoagie rolls cut side down in the skillet until golden brown; remove and set aside.
  5. Sauté diced onions in the same skillet until softened and caramelized; transfer to a bowl.
