  • 15 ounces slider buns (12-count)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided)
  • 3 cups thinly sliced yellow onion
  • 3 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 teaspoons grated garlic
  • ½ teaspoon granulated sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • pounds thinly sliced deli roast beef
  • ½ pound Swiss cheese (thinly sliced)
  • 10.5 ounces French onion soup
  • 1½ cups water
  • 1 ounce packet Au Jus mix

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of butter. Add onions, salt, black pepper, sugar, thyme, and garlic; cook for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Arrange the bottom halves of the slider buns in a baking dish. Layer with roast beef, caramelized onions, and Swiss cheese before placing the top halves on.
  4. Mix French onion soup, water, and Au Jus mix in a bowl; pour evenly over sliders.
  5. Brush tops with remaining melted butter and cover loosely with foil. Bake for about 15 minutes; remove foil during the last few minutes to crisp tops.
  6. Allow cooling slightly before serving with extra Au Jus on the side.
