  • ½ cup yellow onion (finely diced)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup baby bella mushrooms (thinly sliced)
  • 2 packets instant brown gravy mix
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together gravy packets and water until smooth. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, combine ground beef, diced onions, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into five evenly sized patties.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions and mushrooms; sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
  5. Push vegetables to one side and sear the patties in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).
  6. Drain excess grease if necessary and stir in the prepared gravy mixture. Cook until thickened.
  7. Serve the hamburger steaks topped with gravy alongside your favorite sides.
