  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp allspice

  • 1/2 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup softened dairy-free butter alternative
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp water, milk or more apple cider

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together oat flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted coconut oil, brown sugar, applesauce, apple cider, vanilla extract, and eggs until smooth.
  4. Gradually combine the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter among cupcake liners and bake for about 22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let cool completely before frosting with spiced buttercream made by mixing softened dairy-free butter and powdered sugar along with vanilla extract and spices.
