  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 green peppers, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken breast
  • Garlic powder, salt & pepper to taste
  • Provolone cheese slices
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, combine oil and butter. Add sliced peppers and onions, cooking until soft (about 15 minutes). Stir in the crushed bouillon cube, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix shredded chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Combine the chicken mixture with sautéed vegetables in the skillet; cook for another 5 minutes until heated through.
  5. Split Hawaiian rolls in half and layer the bottom half in a baking dish. Add slices of provolone cheese followed by the chicken mixture and another layer of cheese before placing the top half of the rolls back on.
  6. Mix melted butter with Italian seasoning and garlic powder; brush over the tops of the rolls.
  7. Bake for about 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and sliders are golden brown.
